Passengers at MIA can get tested for COVID-19 before boarding the plane at the same airport with results in 15 minutes

MIAMI MAY 26, 2021- The motto that is read on one of the Miami International Airport web pages is FLY Safe, FLY Smart (Fly Safe, Fly Smart), and it is becoming safer to fly from MIA.

Since last week, and thanks to the approval of Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, and Commissioners Joe Martínez and Keon Hardemon among others, our International airport has facilities for passengers to be tested for COVID-19 and arrive at their destination. without problems of being placed under quarantine or traveling on a contaminated plane with people who have contracted the coronavirus.

“As travel continues to increase and restart between Miami-Dade County and countries around the world, helping passengers meet the travel requirements of their destinations without having to leave the airport is a huge benefit to travelers in MIA” said Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, during the inauguration of the Center at the terminal.

The facility located in the Central Terminal is operated by Communitel and Family Rehab, Inc., and is centrally located on street level very close to the parking lot of Room E.  This super modern center provides antigen tests (a substance that when introduced into the body induces an immune response, causing the formation of antibodies) and rapid PCR with results in 15 minutes and PCR tests with results in 40 minutes.
The facility is open every day from 2 a.m. at 10 p.m. for walking tours and scheduled appointments. For trial costs or to schedule an appointment, call 305-225-6266. Clients will receive a written test result, or results can be emailed upon request.
There is another Center in the South Terminal near the TSA checkpoint in room H.  The tests will be available in the Center for Passengers and Employees Countries will require passengers to test negative for COVID-19 before allowing a person to enter their territory, airlines will advise of such requirements.

The test center is located next to gate # 11 in the middle of the street level with hall E, passengers who are in the terminal, just need to go to the ground floor by taking one of the elevators or the escalators Once you are there, go to gate 11, cross the street and on your left you will find the Covid-19 Center.

Lester Solas Director of MIA has described the COVID-19 testing facilities as “our last step for our passengers to Travel Safe and Fly Smart”.
